What first sparked your interest in history? Was it a fascinating book, article, an interesting visit to a historic site, or an engaging teacher? What about a history club that combines all of these things?
Since 1953, The Tar Heel Junior Historian Association has been inspiring North Carolina’s young people to study local and state history. OCE is proud to offer, the Clipper Ship to 4th graders again this year.
The club is open to all 4th graders and will meet on the first and fourth Tuesday of each month. The time is from 8:10 – 8:45am. Location is Cottage 504. Students will get dropped off in the bus loop and Sail to Cottage 504. Following the club, students will head to their classroom.
Students will be expected to do some reading outside of the club and come prepared to discuss their findings. If your child is interested, please email Mrs. Stauffer for a permission form. The first club met on Tuesday, August 6th and will only meet when track 1 is in session.
