Ms. Callaghan
Fourth Grade Track 3
Teacher Heather Callaghan Class Website eMail: [email protected] I have been teaching at Olive Chapel since 2005. I have taught third, fourth, and fifth grade! I am very excited to return to fourth grade. I love learning about technology programs and applications. They are fun and really get the students more engaged in what they are learning. I am big on individualizing each student’s education for each kiddo is unique in their strengths and weaknesses. Keeping connected with my students and their parents is very important to me. We are a team and I can’t reach the students unless we are all on the same page. I grew up in Durham and now live in Holly Springs. I have a Yorkie named Mia. She is full of energy and loves to get into mischief. I love NC State and try to go to as many games as I can. I enjoy going to the beach and relaxing with friends. When I am with friends, we love to play board and card games. The 2013-2014 school year will be my ninth year teaching and I wake up every day blessed to be doing something I love. |

Teacher Katy Trainor Class Website eMail: [email protected] I am from Rhode Island, but have lived in Apex for the past six years. I have my Masters in Teaching Elementary Education and Bachelors in Communications, with minors in Sociology & Spanish. Previous to coming to Olive Chapel, I ran a small tutoring center in Cary. In that capacity, and in my previous work as a tutor in the Triangle, I worked with students from PreK through high school across the curriculum. Before teaching in North Carolina, I taught K-2 in Florida. In my free time, I love heading outside with my family- our favorite destination is the beach, or seeing a family movie. My dream is to some day publish a children's book! And I am thrilled to be aboard the Olive Chapel clipper ship! |

Teacher Rahnesia Best Class Website eMail: [email protected] I came to OCE in 2008. I graduated from ECU--Home of the mighty pirates! ARRGGHHHH!!! I grew up mainly in Jacksonville, NC--home of the Marines of Camp Lejeune, but spent a few year in Jamaica. My family is Jamaican and we love our heritage and family traditions. My family means the world to me and we are extremely close. I get my love of teaching from my mother who has been an educator for about 30 years now. She is a Principal of the Year from Onslow County and still currently works at an elementary school as Principal. My father works for the Department of Defense, and my baby brother just completed his first year at ECU with a 4.0! I love to read, write books, scrapbook, go to the movies, shop, and go antiquing! I love to teach and enjoy what I do. I will always be a life-long learner and enjoy promoting those same ideals in my students. I enjoy working at OCE because of the upbeat and positive environment. |

Teacher Jessica Szasz Class Website eMail: [email protected] This is my first year at Olive Chapel Elementary, and I am so thrilled to be teaching fourth grade! I have dreamed of being a teacher for as long as I can remember, and am inspired by my mom, who was also an elementary school teacher. I grew up in South Brunswick, New Jersey, and attended West Chester University of Pennsylvania to study education. I graduated with honors, and earned my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, as well as a minor in music. I have been playing the violin for over 15 years, and love incorporating music into the classroom! I got married just one week before school started, and currently live in Apex with my husband. In our spare time, we enjoy playing our violin and cello, going to parks, trying new restaurants, and watching movies. We love it here! I am so excited to get to know each and every one of you. May this year be filled with learning, laughter, growth, and adventure! |
