Fourth Grade Track 1
Teacher Matthew Tussey Class Website eMail: [email protected] I am originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, and graduated from the University of Arkansas Little Rock. My Bachelors Degree is in Construction Management, and I traveled around the country helping to build malls. After realizing that was not where my passion lied, I went to graduate school (at UALR again) to get my Masters in Early Childhood Education. In 2012 I moved to North Carolina with my wife Melissa and our son Matthew, who is 2 years old. I started at OCE in early 2013 in 4th grade on Track 1 and have now moved over to Track 2. I absolutely love seeing my students grow, not only academically, but as people, and Olive Chapel is the perfect place for that to happen! In my spare time I love to read, as well as watch football and basketball. I love being an Olive Chapel Clipper! Fourth Grade Track 2
Teacher Karen Wiltse Class Website eMail: [email protected] I joined the staff at Olive Chapel Elementary School in 2013 and have taught 3rd grade the last two years. For 2015 I am very excited to be making a change by joining the 4th grade team! In my 20+ year career I have taught 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 5th grade and even preschool. Following my graduation from the State University of New York College at Brockport, my new husband (& high school sweetheart) and I moved to Boynton Beach, Florida where I started my career teaching 3rd grade at Our Savior Lutheran School. Four years later we started our family being blessed with our first daughter, Samantha. During my time away from teaching to raise our daughter we relocated to Cary, North Carolina and soon our second daughter, Devyn, was born. In 2000 I was spending so much time volunteering at our daughters' school, my husband encouraged me to go back to teaching. After teaching four years at Yates Mill Pond Elementary and two years at Cary Elementary, my husband's job took us on a four year international assignment to Taiwan. While there I was lucky enough to teach 2nd grade at the Taipei American School. We returned home and I rejoined Cary Elementary in 2010 where I taught for two more years. When I made the decision to work at a year-round school I had no idea how rewarding it would be. This is my third year teaching at Olive Chapel Elementary school and I very much enjoy the students, families and faculty, and am very much looking forward to my new adventure in 4th grade! |

Teacher Kelley Rattinger Class Website eMail: [email protected] Hello Olive Chapel community! I am so excited to be teaching 4th grade this year! I moved down to North Carolina in March of 2015 from New York (go Giants!) where I was born and raised. I received my B.A. in English Language and Studio Art from SUNY Binghamton and my M.S. in Elementary and Special Education from Dowling College before making the trek down to this wonderful state. I have two nutty cats with penchants for trouble who joined me on my adventure down the coast. I cannot wait for the rest of this year to unfold and look so forward to growing with this school and it’s wonderful community! |
