Mrs. Kiger
Track 1 Cross Categorical Resource
Teacher Holly Kiger eMail: [email protected] I joined the Olive Chapel Elementary family in 2004, but have taught in Wake County since 2001, as a Cross Categorical Resource Teacher. I grew up in Northern NY, (dairy farm country) with my two older brothers and our parents. After graduating high school there, I moved to N.C. and attended Appalachian State University. I graduated from ASU in 2000 with a degree in Special Education. While still in college, I married my college sweetheart. We have since had two children. In my free time, I enjoy reading, playing with my kids and watching movies. Track 4 Cross Categorical Resource Teacher Lori Young
eMail: [email protected] I graduated from Harding University with a speech/language degree. I worked as a speech therapist in public schools system for 13 years in Arkansas and Texas. My family and I moved to Apex in 2000. We have 4 children. My oldest son is married, and he and his wife have made me a first time grandmother! My second child, a daughter, is married and living in Arkansas. My third child, a son, is working in Charlotte. My last child, a daughter is in high school. Once she started Kindergarten at Olive Chapel, I began to substitute. I felt the need for a career change from speech, but was unsure of which direction. I agreed to a long-term TA sub position in the AU II classroom and loved it. I job shared in the AU I classroom the next year. I was hired. After one year of job sharing, I became a full time teacher in the AU I classroom. I loved the direction my career had taken and found my passion working with the AU population. After seven years in the self-contained AU setting, and ready for a change, I was fortunate to begin the CCR Track 4 position. This year will begin my eleventh year at OCE and my fourth year in CCR. I feel very blessed to be where I am and to be able to do what I love to do. |
Mrs. Lodato
Track 3 Cross Categorical Resource Teacher Wendy Lodato
eMail: [email protected] This is my first year at OCE! I have taught special education for the past 15 years. I really enjoy working with elementary students because they are like sponges and love to soak up as much knowledge they can get. I am from Rochester New York where I was born and raised. I am married and have 4 children and 2 grandchildren. I moved to NC 2 months ago with my husband and my "furry" daughter Abby. I love to walk, read and play games on my iPad. |
