SECOND GRADE TRACKS 3 & 4
Track 4 Second Grade
Teacher Jennifer Cowell Class Website eMail: [email protected] I graduated from the North Carolina Teaching Fellows Program at UNC Chapel Hill with a degree in Elementary Education and a teaching certificate (K-6). I have worked for Wake County Public School System since college - as a classroom teacher, a TA, and a substitute teacher. I love to go on "adventures" and learn new things with my family. We enjoy spending time outside and we feel blessed to live in NC. We are currently working toward our goal of "going on an adventure" in each of the 100 counties in NC. So far, we have visited about 30 counties and we have enjoyed activities ranging from attending the [Hot Air] Balloon Festival in Western NC (Iredell County) to exploring Jockey's Ridge State Park in the Outer Banks (Dare County). Of all the towns that I have visited in NC, I love Apex the most and I am thankful to have the opportunity to work at OCE. |
Track 3 Second Grade
Teacher Kelly O'Hare Class Website eMail: [email protected] I am very excited to be returning to OCE this year! Let me tell you a little about myself. I grew up thinking I would become a doctor (because I'd always enjoyed science in school) but a volunteer tutoring job changed my mind. I realized I loved being a learner and I also loved helping others learn! I attended UNC Chapel Hill and graduated in 2008 with my degree in Elementary Education. In 2011 I went back to UNC-CH (go tarheels!) and earned my Master's in Education for Experienced Teachers with a focus in Literacy. This is my eighth year of teaching. I was an Eagle at Estes Hills Elementary in Chapel Hill for four years, then a Chameleon for two years at Carpenter Elementary in Cary, and now I'm honored to be a Clipper at Olive Chapel. My husband, Keith, and I have a little girl named Teagan and a fluffy dog named Tate. We enjoy hiking, watching sports, traveling, reading books, and playing board games. Ms. Harrison

Teacher Caroline Harrison Class Website eMail: [email protected] This is my second year at OCE and I am very excited to be joining the family! I grew up in Fayetteville, NC and went to school at Appalachian State where I got a bachelors degree in Elementary Education. Before coming to Olive Chapel I taught second grade at another school in Wake County! I love animals and will hopefully have the time for a dog one day! I enjoy traveling, hiking, going to the beach, playing games, watching and playing sports, and relaxing! |
